The Women in the Holocaust International Study Centre (WHISC) at the Moreshet Anielevich Memorial Holocaust Study and Research Centre, Israel, invites applicants to contribute to a zoom workshop to plan teaching programs and materials focussing on women’s roles, and their fate, in the Holocaust.
The meetings will be held over two days on 26th and 27th June 2023.
Teaching about the Holocaust is becoming more and more important as awareness and knowledge about the Holocaust is diminishing as time passes. In many parts of the world the subject is not taught at all in schools or is touched on only briefly.
Even in Israel, examining women’s roles during this time is a neglected part of Holocaust history. The proposed planning meeting will bring together educators with experience and/or interest in developing teaching materials, and preferably online modules, that examine women’s experiences during the Shoah.
