We are honored to announce our latest Call for Papers, inviting scholars and researchers to contribute to the ongoing exploration of the experiences, roles, and voices of women during the Holocaust.
At the Women in the Holocaust International Study Center (WHISC), our mission is to shed light on the unique perspectives and untold stories of women in this pivotal chapter of history.
Through our Fellows Program, we have supported groundbreaking research on topics such as :
which have significantly advanced the field of Holocaust studies. These works, along with the insights gained through our Scholarship Program, highlight the critical importance of examining this history through the lens of gender.
This Call for Papers seeks to build on this legacy by encouraging submissions that delve into the experiences of women in the Holocaust, their contributions to resistance and survival, and the ways their stories continue to resonate in contemporary discussions of memory and identity. We welcome proposals that engage with the themes explored by our past fellows, and those that open new avenues for understanding the role of women during this time.
By participating, contributors will join a community of dedicated scholars committed to deepening our understanding of this crucial aspect of Holocaust history. Accepted papers will be shared on a global stage, amplifying the voices of women whose stories demand to be heard and remembered.
