 Belgrade Conference - 10-12 October 2023

Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, Kraljice Natalije 45, 11000 Belgrade, Serbia

Dear conference participants,
We are glad to welcome you in Belgrade from 10th to 12th October 2023.
In this document we are sharing more information concerning the city, its transportation lines, hotel and restaurant recommendations and other potentially useful details.

Transportation:

If you are coming by plane through Nikola Tesla Airport, you have a couple of options to get to the city:

Option 1: Taking a taxi

When you pick up your luggage and before you exist the airport there is a taxi booth. Share with them your address and they will give you a paper with the amount that you should pay. Please be sure that you take this ticket, because it reduces your costs and ensures that you don’t get charged more than you should. The taxi drive to city center should not exceed 4000 rsd (around 35 euros). If you would like to pay by the card, please tell that to driver before you sit into the taxi (not every taxi has an option for card payment).

Option 2: Mini bus line А1

Departs from the bus station in front of the airport exit,

Uses the route Airport ‒ Slavija Square (Kralja Milutina Street)

The travel time is around 30 minutes

The ticket costs around 400 rsd (approximately 3.5 euros), and is bought at the spot, in the bus

Please have in mind that the bus accepts only cash in Serbian dinars (RSD).

Once you are in the city, you can get around mostly by walking - Belgrade's city center is pedestrian-friendly, making it easy to explore on foot. Otherwise, you can order a taxi, but be sure to ask if they accept a card in advance, and ensure they have a functioning meter or agree on a fare before your ride. There is no Uber in Serbia, alternatively you can download : CarGo app  which is functioning in the same way as Uber.
